It is on the first day of summer, in The Woodlands, Texas, where history has been made.

The first day of the first Valve World Conference Americas started off with a Power Breakfast and introductory speeches.
Chairman Jerry D'Avanzo welcomed the delegates with his Welcoming Words and a brief talk about the importance of PSM.
Plenary Speakers from Tuesday, June 21, were Marie Murphy, NPPD who spoke about "The Nuclear Exchange - Building expertise and efficiency with valve working groups" and Joao Henrique Rittershaussen, of Petrobras discussing "Petrobras' Business Plan 2014: Strategy and Demand for Valves."

The initial conference workshops were filled with eager delegates who filled the rooms for sessions on Predicting Valve Performance during sizing and selection, Standards and Organizations and Unconventional Energy Sources.

More than 1500 people have attended the event, and many attended the Fugitive Emissions speaker’s corner event conducted by Rich Davis of Flexitallic.
