Successful Debut of Valve World Americas Expo & Conference

Posted by Daniela Knoll on Mon, Jul 18, 2011 @ 16:00 PM

Valve World Expo Americas 2011      The first staging of Valve World Expo Americas, held recently in The Woodlands, Texas, just outside of Houston, was a great success, earning raves from exhibitors and visitors alike. On a display area of 13,280 net square feet, 93 exhibitors from the United States, Canada, Asia, Europe, India, and Latin America presented the latest technologies, components and systems from the broad field of industrial valve technology to 1,100 visitors.

The fact that the exhibitors brought over 700 staff members (not included in the 1,100 visitor count) to the event demonstrates the importance of Valve World Expo Americas 2011 as a meeting point to network with the industry. The trade fair fully reached its goal to provide an international, yet American, focused platform for technical and commercial exchange about the latest technologies, developments and products for this sector. This conference with an exhibition component was collaboration between Messe Düsseldorf and KCI Publishing, both already cooperating for the Valve World Expo held in Düsseldorf, Germany every two years.

The premiere of the Valve World Conference Americas 2011 was setting a precedent in format as well as location – in this case, by having the conference consist of plenary sessions and workshops rather than presentations of papers. The workshops covered a variety of timely topics and issues such as maintaining valve quality, the latest in industry standards, supply chain management and valve sizing. The plenary sessions included themes such as in-country sourcing and exporting in Latin America, environmental performance of valves and investing on global energy security. The overall conference and expo was sponsored by Cameron, Crane Energy Flow Solutions, GE, Emerson Process Management, McJunkin Red Man Corporation, Tyco Flow Control and Velan - with the support by the Valve Manufacturers Association of America (VMA).    Valve World Americas Conference 2011

The next Valve World Americas Expo and Conference will be held from June 25 - 26, 2013. Based on the unprecedented demand for space, the event will move to downtown Houston and take place at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
